Best Yamaha Audio Visual Equipment
Yamaha hold a significant market portion of the hi-fi and audio visual industry manufacturing TV’s, Blu-ray/DVD players, stereo equipment, sound recording devices and musical instruments. We’ve selected the best products for your home entertainment below.
Yamaha YHT – S400
This is a great bit of kit combining both a sound bar and home cinema. Integrated sound and stylish slender design make this a really good purchase at an affordable price too. The YHT- S400 delivers vastly improved sound quality although the surround sound effect is unimpressive. On the down side the S400 requires considerable wiring from subwoofer to main system.
Yamaha M40 – Black 50W DAB hi-fi system with built-in iPod Dock
The M40 has a stylish, sleek design in a compact system with integrated iPod dock. The sound is solid and has a smooth delivery although the bass lacks a little gusto. This is a great purchase for easy listening or intimate music but is not ideal as a party audio device. The M-40 is a micro system that does not compromise on functionality. CD player, DAB/FM/AM radio. At approx £300 this is a great purchase.
Best Yamaha Motorbikes
Yamaha R1
Yamaha launched this superbike in 1998 with 6 speed transition and style blazing design features making it a cult classic. Many remodels later and the R1 still retains its unique stance and style but has reduced it’s cylinders to 4 for increased handling and better weight distribution. The new R1 still retains its Deltabox 111 frame but this has been redesigned to be slightly sleeker. The bike is famous for its stability and its cornering and whilst the decreased power makes it more of track day blitzer it’s still a serious contender in the ‘Best Sportsbike’ category.
Yamaha R6
The R6 is a sizable bike with good muscle however it’s surprisingly light and easy to handle. This bike has classic Yamaha good looks especially the striking limited edition yellow and black model. Sleek design integrates lights into body although the silencer does stick out a bit like a sore thumb. The comfort factor on the bike does leave a little to be desired as the lightweight nature of the bike results in a slightly cramped seat. It handles beautifully however and all is forgiven on sharp turns.
Yamaha 125
Yamaha 125 is a great starter bike; eligible to be ridden by CBT licence holders and with a great safety record. The positioning of controls is ideal for any rider and with automatic lights (12V) and accessible indicators. The bike does struggle up steep hills and lacks some speed on inclines but for 125CC what do you expect? The Y125 is economical with great fuel consumption and is cheap to tax and insure. This bike does suffer in bad weather and you need a full licence to carry another passenger.
Yamaha Insurance provide comprehensive cover for both you and your bike. This official scheme is a dedicated service for Yamaha owners or riders.

Best Yamaha Keyboards and Instruments
Yamaha are market leaders in electronic keyboards consistently producing most popular instruments for professional and amateur musicians alike. The sound quality in Yamaha keyboards is legendary with both depth and agility and as Yamaha also produce sound recording equipment nothing is lost in translation for home and studio recording. Prices start around £100 for a standard machine with limited features and basic projection. The Yamaha Tyros3 is the flagship keyboard with AEM (articulation element modelling) sampling and more than 1,000 percussive sounds. This machine costs around £3,000.00 and comes with speakers and stands.
